KACU, Abilene's public radio station, is hosting a "Virtual Food Drive" beginning March 30. The online food drive will benefit the Food Bank of West Central Texas, Rescue the Animals and KACU-FM.
"More families than ever are seeking help. As the economy gets worse, our numbers continue to increase," says Jean Butler, coordinator of the United Methodist Service Center and Food Pantries. "Without the help of the Food Bank, we would not be able to give a balanced diet to so many families. I strongly urge anyone to help the Food Bank restock right now. The shelves become bare all too quickly. The hungry continue to need these resources."
