Even though the spring semester has come to an end, thousands of students will flock to Abilene's university campuses this summer for camp experiences ranging from football to orchestra.
For Hardin-Simmons University alone, media relations director Janlyn Thaxton expects about 5,000 students to attend camps.
The largest is Super Summer, a youth camp affiliated with Texas Baptists that began in 1974. HSU has been a host campus since 1991, Thaxton said.
